ATTN: Landlords & Investment Property Owners in Chicago…please read

Great article & a topic worth repeating…If you’re a landlord or investment property owner in Chicago – many attorneys, agents (and I) would advise you to NOT collect a security deposit when you have incoming tenants.  If you’re holding existing deposits for tenants, perhaps its a good time to do the math and return those deposits.  The CLTO Chicago Landlord Tenant Ordinance is so slighted in favor of Tenants, it doesn’t pay an owner to hold a deposit for their rental properties.  Those “ambulance chasing” (tenant) attorneys once again give those good attorneys a bad name.  Read below and call/email for more info.  I’ve got plenty of stories that will make you run the other direction when a tenant approaches you with a deposit check.
